Three Easy Steps for your Subfloor Install
- Power Drill
- Sheet Metal Screws
- Tape Measure
- Spray Adhesive
- Roll of Reflectix
- 3/8” Plywood
- Circular Saw
- Foam and Foil Insulation Tape
Step 1: Clean your work space
Begin by sweeping your entire van. In this install you use a fair amount of spray adhesive and to properly use this adhesive to its full potential, its essential to have a clean floor.
Step 2: Reflectix
Cut the Reflectix to the dimensions of your floor. Spray the adhesive liberally onto the floor and roll your pieces on evenly. Using Foam and Foil Insulation tape, tape each piece of Reflectix to each other creating one big piece for the entirety of the van floor.
Step 3: Fasten down Plywood
After your Reflectix covers your whole floor it is time to fasten the plywood. We used a scribe tool to perfectly fit our 3/8” plywood to the curvatures of the van but you can also make a cardboard template if thats easier for you. Using metal screws, fasten the plywood to the high ribs of the floor.
